Re-discovering Bald Eagle Photographs
Over the last several weeks, I have been reviewing over 10,000 photographs on my computer; a truly mind and eye numbing experience. The reason I took on this task was to update my catalog of photos and re-edit them as needed in preparation for this summer’s shows. I am taking a big leap this summer and will be setting up a display of photographs for sale at the First Sunday’s festival in Annapolis. I hope to have the catalog complete shortly and plan to reopen Augie’s Adventures photo page once complete. To my surprise, I found some Bald Eagles.
The task turned into a kind of trip down memory lane, as I rediscovered many photographs I had forgotten about. Some of which were of the Bald Eagles of Ketchikan, AK.
The Bald Eagle is a common sight in Alaska and to the locals is often referred to as the crows of Alaska. However, I never lost my interest in the majestic symbol of our country, photographing them whenever the opportunity was presented.
Here are some of my favorite Bald Eagle shots I took during my stay.
I would stop and watch this Eagle almost every day on my commute home from work while in Alaska. He was the Boss of his Cove.
I took this shot one afternoon while watching 15 different Eagles perched together on floating logs.
This Eagle was coming in for a landing to feed on some fish carcasses left behind at a boat ramp by a fisherman.
This Guy posted watch while his partner fed on the fish carcasses
This was my first eagle photo I took in British Columbia while I waited for the ferry to Ketchikan.
This Eagle was a regular around my house.
